This linear LED wall sconce takes the form of a long aluminum strip 4 cm wide, held away from the wall by two brackets, bathing the wall in a soft glow. Designed by Thoro, the Sappo sconce comes in 120 cm or 150 cm and in six colors: it can be mounted vertically, horizontally or diagonally, depending on the effect you are looking for.

A wall-mounted LED strip held away from the wall

The Sappo sconce is made of very little: a thin, straight aluminum housing, fixed by two brackets that hold it a few centimeters from the wall. This slight gap is enough to change how the light fixture is perceived. The strip seems to float in front of the wall and lets the light pass behind it.

The LED module runs the whole length of the housing. The light spreads toward the wall, on both sides, and draws an elongated halo that outlines the silhouette of this wall-mounted LED strip. It brings out plaster, polished concrete or a brick wall, without causing glare for the people in the room.

LED ambient lighting in 3000 K or 4000 K

The LED is integrated and included: no bulb is needed. Depending on the version, the strip delivers from 20 W to 25 W, for roughly 2300 to 2900 lumens. With a color rendering index of 90, this ambient lighting faithfully renders the shades of the wall, frames and shelves nearby. The sconce runs on 220-240 V and has an IP20 protection rating, for dry rooms.

Two shades of white are available. The 3000 K warm white creates a relaxed atmosphere, ideal in a living room, a bedroom or a restaurant dining room. The 4000 K neutral white provides a brighter light, suited to an office, an apartment building hallway or a commercial space. If you are arranging several strips on the same wall, choose the same temperature for all of them.

Two lengths, 120 cm and 150 cm, and six colors

The 120 cm version suits a bedroom, entryway or office wall. The 150 cm version comes into its own in a living room or in a space with a high ceiling. In both cases, the width remains 4 cm: the strip keeps its slimness, whichever length you choose.

Six finishes are available. White and beige blend into a light wall, black draws a crisp line and gold adds a more precious touch. Olive green and red ochre warm up a brick or concrete wall: they make this designer wall sconce a good choice for loft-style interiors and restaurants with a warm atmosphere.

A sconce for the bedroom, living room or restaurant

Mounted vertically, Sappo visually stretches the ceiling height, next to a bookcase, in a corner or on either side of a bed. Horizontally, above a sideboard or a sofa, it emphasizes the line of the furniture. Used as a bedhead sconce, it advantageously replaces two separate sconces. Diagonally, several crossed strips form a graphic composition, for example an X in two colors.

The electrical connection must be carried out by a qualified electrician. For a diagonal or X-shaped composition, first sketch it to scale on the wall with masking tape: you will be able to adjust the angles before drilling. In a restaurant, a bar or a lobby, a series of regularly spaced vertical strips dresses a large wall. For maintenance, a soft, dry cloth is enough.
