Wall Sconce | PONTIUS

The Pontius wall sconce from Sollux Lighting is a domed ceramic shell with soft, pebble-like contours, open at the top and bottom, available in gray, black or glossy white. It takes a G9 bulb and casts 2 halos of light on the wall.

A ceramic wall sconce with a soft shape

The rounded shell widens toward the front, then curves back toward the wall. This generous curve gives the sconce a sculptural presence while remaining discreet. Its soft contours soften a wall with straight lines.

This ceramic wall sconce combines ceramic and glass. It keeps the charm of pottery, with simple lines. Simply wipe it regularly with a cloth.

It suits modern, Scandinavian or minimalist interiors. You can hang it in any dry room, at the height of your choice.

Gray, black or glossy white: which finish to choose?

Gray recalls stone and concrete. It matches limewashed walls, terrazzo floors and mineral tones. It suits understated, natural settings.

Black gives a clear contrast on a light wall. When lit, this black wall sconce makes the golden light around it stand out even more.

Glossy white, glazed, reflects the ambient light. It adds a luminous touch to a light wood wall or a white plaster finish. In a single room, keep one finish for all the sconces.

Indirect lighting upward and downward

When lit, the light escapes through the 2 openings and fans upward on the wall. The outline of the shell then stands out like a shadow puppet.

The bulb sits in the hollow of the ceramic. This indirect lighting stays soft, even when you walk right past. The halo traces the shape of the shell on the wall.

In warm white, the light surrounding the ceramic takes on a very pleasant golden tint. Leave space between the sconce and the ceiling, so that the upper halo can open freely.

Where to install this sconce for a hallway or living room?

This hallway sconce is installed in a series. Evenly spaced, the shells enliven the walls with a succession of luminous fans. Keep the same mounting height from one sconce to the next.

In a living room, 2 sconces on either side of a sofa or a low cabinet create a soft light. In a bedroom, above the nightstands, this wall sconce replaces bedside lamps and lights the wall rather than the face. In a dining room, a pair on the main wall warms the atmosphere around the table.

Pontius takes 1 G9 bulb, LED, 12 W maximum, not included. The light fixture is rated IP20, so it is only suitable for dry rooms. The electrical connection must be carried out by a qualified electrician. For maintenance, switch off the power, then wipe the ceramic with a soft cloth.
